RESEARCH ON THE MECHANISM OF OCCURRENCE AND GOVERNANCE SYSTEM OF ENVIRONMENTAL COLLECTIVE ACTIONS

As the public environmental awareness improved and environmental bearing capacity reached or approached the upper limit, environmental collective actions occurred frequently. This research is intended to prevent and control environmental collective actions through investigation into the mechanism of their occurrence. Firstly, the current status of environmental collective actions was analysed and the social background, research overview, type and governance of environmental collective actions were summarised. Secondly, the mechanism of occurrence of environmental collective actions was established and theoretically verified. Environmental collective actions originated from the cognition of environmental damage and lead to various environmental actions through the effects of factors including environmental satisfaction, protest effect, environmental expenditure, etc. Finally, a diverse-subject collaborative governance system was established according to the mechanism of occurrence, type and characteristics of environmental collective actions. Environmental collective actions were governed by means of prevention, on-the-spot response, classification and disposal.
