Environmental Regulation of the UK Offshore Oil and Gas Industry

摘要

This article examines the provisions for the environmental regulation of the offshore oil industry in the UK. The reconciliation of our need to use energy with the need to protect the environment is one of the most important challenges for the Government and industry. The object of this article is to evaluate how that challenge has been addressed so far and whether economic factors have been allowed to outweigh environmental protection.
