Pioneer Accents Image Quality, Simplicity to Build DVD Acceptance

As part of its "2005 Vision" campaign, Pioneer Corp. is focusing on the key products with which it aims to expand its business. These include optical disc devices, primarily DVDs, some of the latest display devices, like plasma display panels (PDPs) and organic light-emitting diode (OLED) displays, and optical pickups. In particular, the company aims to make DVD recorders a cornerstone of future growth. Haruyuki Iharada, Manager, who is in charge of marketing in Japan, says the company will promote these products as a way to capture a leading share of the Japanese market in FY2002. Accordingly, the company late in October introduced the DVR-77H recorder for recordable and rewritable (DVD-R, DVD-RW) discs, and the DVR-55 DVD recorder. Both of these products are for the Japanese market. The DVR-77H comes with a large-capacity hard disc drive as well.
