Sony Recasts CCTV Camera Business as e-Communication Company

Sony Corp. has transformed its CCTV monitoring camera business into what the company calls an e-communication business. The e-communication business will offer products related to surveillance, video conferences and Web casting, or high-definition image distribution, using Internet protocol (IP) cameras. The new business will offer products geared for broadband networks. To form the new business, Sony in April completed the reorganization of the Communications Division of the B&P Company, which handles mainly broadcast equipment. The former division has now been recast as the Business Solutions Company under the Broadband Solutions Network Company.
