Nikon Corp. continues to command 40 percent of the digital single-lens reflex (SLR) camera market. This fiscal year, the company expects to surpass its goals of ¥480 billion and 10 billion units in sales and ¥48 billion in operating profits. Furthermore, along with reviewing its manufacturing system, Nikon is restructuring its supply chain management (SCM) to improve profitability and reduce loss of sales opportunities. Makoto Kimura, Director, Senior Executive Officer and President of Imaging Co., Nikon Corp., described the company's strategy for the latter half of the year.
