Thus the company zeroes in on shoring up and expanding the solar cell business. At present, Sanyo' solar cell business is centered on the European market, backed mainly by its proprietary Heterojunction with Intrinsic Thin Layer (HIT) solar cells, highlighting one of the highest energy conversion efficiency rates in the market. The solar cell business has also grown to become among the major drivers of the company's operating results.
