Sony Corp.'s DAV-IS10 5.1-channel home-theater-in-a-box system, introduced in the middle of 2007, features five tiny speakers, each about the size of a golf ball. Design was a major concern for Sony when developing the DAV-IS10. The creators were guided by traditional principles of Japanese style, including simplicity and essential shapes. Attention to styling detail is evident with the system's clear, translucent finish. Also, even though the speakers are very small, they still produce rich, full 5.1-channel surround sound thanks to a newly developed digital signal processor algorithm.
