Sharp Develops CMOS Camera for Vehicle Use

Sharp Corporation has introduced the 1/3.7-type RJ642A10000Q CMOS camera unit designed for vehicle rearview monitoring systems. The unit features a resolution of 320,000 pixels and a profile of 19.5mm, one of the thinnest in the industry.rnThe company has started the sample shipment of the unit in March while actual mass production will start this month. Sharp intends to produce about 5,000 of the said units every month, with an estimated retail price of about ￥15,000 (US$167).
