USMC PUBLISHES MAGTF CYBER-EW COORDINATION CELL CONCEPT

Last month, the US Marine Corps' published Marine Administrative Message 362/14, "Marine Air Ground Task Force (MAGTF) Cyberspace and Electronic Warfare Coordination Cell (CEWCC) Concept." The document, which was released by LtGen K. J. Glueck, Jr., the deputy commandant for Combat Development and Integration (CDI), explains the operational relationship between cyberpsace and the EMS. According to the message, the CEWCC "lays the foundation for how the Marine Corps will continue to operationalize the Cyberspace Domain and the Electromagnetic Spectrum (EMS) as interrelated maneuver spaces through which military advantage can be gained or lost." It goes on to say, "While Cyberspace is receiving significant attention, it is essential for Marines to understand that this new man-made domain can only be leveraged for maximum tactical advantage when EMS-dependent capabilities are combined with Cyberspace capabilities to support MAGTF operations."
