Most of us would agree with the statement, "English is the global language of business and technology." This situation does not, however, mean individuals around the world use English in the same way. These differences can be problematic, for in today's global economy, many English-language documents must now be written in a style that allows for their quick and easy translation at some later time. Within such a context, John R. Kohl's recent book The Global English Style Guide: Writing Clear, Translatable Documentation for a Global Market can serve as a valuable resource for technical communicators.
