摘要

The air microflora present in the atmosphere of 13 meat stalls in Kanchipuram were investigated with the Anderson sampler open plate method. The samples were collected at 13 places and Petriplates with 2% malt extract were used for the exposure in the sampler. Thirty seven species belonging to the 24 genera were recovered from the atmosphere. Yeast was abundant and equally Aspergillus sp (12.5%). Penicillium (12.5%), Pseudomonas (0.75%), E.coli (2.2%), Staphilococcus (0.75), Streptococcus (0.75%), Mucor (2.50), Rhizopus (1.20%) and Candida albicans were found at the atmosphere of meat shops in the Kanchipuram. The results . indicate that Aspergillus sp. and Penicillium sp. which cause Aspergillosis and other bacteria found in the atmosphere and cause the diarrhoea and food poisoning.
