EFFECT OF MALATHION ON THE FREE AMINO ACID CONTENT OF BOMBYX MORI LARVA

The effects of very low concentration (0.002 ppm) of malathion on free amino acid content of 5th instar larvae of Bombyx man were investigated. Malathion (0.002 ppm) was not lethal to the silk worms and did not interfere with the digestion of proteins and absorption of amino acids. There is no significant difference for amino acid content in the haemolymph of treated and control larvae. Hence malathion (0.002 ppm) had no effect-on buffering and protein synthesis mechanisms of B. mori larva.
