PHYSICO-CHEMICAL CHARACTERISTICS OF DRINKING WATER SAMPLES OF PALANI, TAMIL NADU

The paper deals with the analysis of physico-chemical characteristics of drinking water samples from Palani. Water samples were collected from four different water sources namely Palani municipality water, Idumban Pond, borewell water from Palaniandavar Nagar and tap water from Arulmigu Palani Andavar College. The value of pH (6.5 - 8.5), chloride (250 mg/l) and magnesium (30 mg/l) were within the permissible limits as per the ISI standards.
