摘要

Aqueous leaf extracts and leaf leachates of Vitex negundo was studied for its allelopathic potential against seed germination and seedling growth of groundnut (Aruchis hypogaea). The results of present study revealed that there was a stimulatory effect observed at 5% concentration of both leaf extract and leaf leachatc treatments, but at higher concentrations (10,15 & 20%) of both the treatments, germination percentage, seedling length and biomass production gradually were decreased. The leaf leachates of Vitex negundo had more inhibitory effect on growth of groundnut seedlings than that of leaf extract treatments.
