Field experiment was conducted to determine the effect of application of organic manures (coir pith, pressmud & farmyard manure) and biofertilizer (Rhizobium leguminosorum) on germination, growth and yield of blackgram (Vigna mungo), cowpea (V. unguiculata) and greengram (V. radiata). The treatments such as (T1 - Control; T2 - Composted Coir Pith (CCP); T3 - Farm Yard Manure (FYM); T4 - Sugarcane Pressmud (SPM); T5 - Rhizobium leguminosorum; T6 - CCP + FYM; T7 - CCP + FYM + SPM + R. leguminosorum) were given to the soil. The increase in morphological growth parameters such as germination %, shoot length, root length, number of root nodules per plant, fresh weight and dry weight were recorded and the yield parameters of three crops were recorded due to fertilizer application. Among all the treatments, the combined application of CCP + FYM + SPM + Rhizobium leguminosorum showed the better growth (36.52 %) and yield (10.21 %) responses than other treatments.
