In search of the snow leopard: a new take on conservation-based ecotourism for Natural Habitat Adventures

The inaugural In search of the snow leopard trip was an amazing experience for everyone involved. NHA learned several key lessons about logistics and communications in exceptionally remote locations. However, the most amazing aspect about the trip was that though the NHA group never saw a snow leopard, WWF staff was still able to excite them about the species and convey the entire conservation picture to the point that the group took action and helped fundraise to protect the species they knew was there but did not actually see. The plan for the In search of... trip series is to rotate the location and the focus species every couple of years, moving on to other iconic endangered wildlife in areas where WWF is intimately involved in conservation and research. NHA is proud of the outcome of this inaugural In search of... trip, and excited to act upon the lessons learned to improve its future expeditions.
