William Ruger's book begins by saying "The objective of this book is to explain Milton Friedman's vast corpus of work …" (1). This statement should immediately prompt skepticism. Friedman's work encompasses research articles published from 1935 to 2010 and includes a large number of obscure items that are not available either electronically or in published collections of Friedman's writings; does the author really cover Friedman's corpus of work? The answer proves to be that he does not. The author's coverage is restricted by three major factors: a 227-page length, a background outside economics, and key omissions of both Friedman-authored articles and articles about Friedman in Ruger's list of sources.
