Russian Ilim Holding finalised the sale of its subsidiary St. Petersburg Cartonboard and Printing Mill (KPK) to German Knauf. The parent company of the Him Group sold 56% of its shares to Knauf's Russian division. According to Him, this transaction has to be seen against the background of the Russian-US joint venture's intention to focus its corporate strategy on three core areas, which are the segments of pulp, industrial packaging and woodfree paper.rnBy acquiring the shares, Knauf's Russian division was able to increase its share in the KPK plant to around 91%.
