Invited review: Completeness of reporting ofexperiments: REFLECTing on a year of animaltrials in the Journal of Dairy Science. By Winderet al., page 4759. Reproducibility in science requirescomprehensive and accurate reporting of study design,conduct, and analysis. This observational study examinedthe prevalence of reporting of the 18 objectiveitems in the Reporting Guidelines for Randomized ControlTrials in Livestock and Food Safety (REFLECT)in trials published in the Journal of Dairy Science in2017. We found that although some items were wellreported, there is room for improvement. Authors andreviewers should use guidelines and checklists appropriatefor their study type.
