Loiec Wacquant, chair of sociology at the University of Berkeley and fellow of the Centre de sociologie europeenne in Paris, has become known to European scholars mainly as a result of his cooperation with Pierre Bourdieu. In the publication at hand, which is part of a trilogy, Wacquant turns to instruments such as field theory, doxa and the different manifestations of capital in order to contribute to a political sociology of the transformation of the field of power in the age of neo-liberalism.
