No one is likely to confuse Jlirgen Rose with James Dean. The 50-year-old German Lieutenant-Colonel would not claim to be a teenage heart-throb, and despite a death threat, of which more anon, he remains very much in the land of the living. But the mostrnsignificant difference is that Dean's best-known film was Rebel without a Cause. By contrast, Rose is a rebel with a cause, and the nature of that cause is the subject of this book.rnThe writer is far from being a total, turn-the-other-cheek pacifist, and bearing in mind his career choice, that is unsurprising.
