The Automotive Industry in an Era of Eco-Austerity: Creating an Industry as if the Planet Mattered

This book addresses the question of how personal mobility, especially using products from the automotive industry, might be restructured to adapt to a future of eco-austerity and growing population. Particular attention is paid to the consequences of post-peak reserves of oil used for fuels and as raw materials for polymers, and reduced supplies of metallic ores for engine, transmission and bodywork components.
