Special Issue: Selected and Revised Papers from the ASCE International Workshop on Computing in Civil Engineering 2007, Special Section 1

摘要

This issue of the Journal of Computing in Civil Engineering presents the first of three special sections containing revised and extended versions of selected papers from the 2007 ASCE International Workshop on Computing in Civil Engineering. Four technical papers are presented in this first special section. The first paper presents a method that automates the positioning of construction components. The second outlines a way to assess the performance of building designs in terms of resilience to chemical and biological threats. The third describes a quantitative, bio-inspired framework meant to enhance design performance properties, such as creativity, optimality, and robustness. The last paper presents operators of a spatial query language for building information models.
