Selected and Revised Papers from the ASCE International Workshop on Computing in Civil Engineering 2007, Special Section 3

This issue of the Journal of Computing in Civil Engineering presents the third of three special sections containing revised and extended versions of selected papers from the ASCE International Workshop on Computing in Civil Engineering 2007. Four technical papers are presented in this third special section. The first paper presents a method that addresses the unique requirements of machine translation for information retrieval. The second outlines a way to position buried assets with RFID. The third describes an approach for allowing underground pipes inspection with computer vision. The last paper presents a comparison of optical spatial data acquisition techniques for surveying related applications. In addition to the special section, this issue of the Journal of Computing in Civil Engineering includes four papers.
