This book is well written and well organised. The language is clear and concise. The chapters are laid out in a logical manner that, if desired, allows the reader to go through the material "cover to cover" without feeling overwhelmed. Well-formatted tables throughout the book highlight important practical information. All pictures are in colour, which contributes to the overall excellence in presentation and clarity. In addition, online access to numerous additional images is available to each reader (free registration and password obtained from the book is required). Very practical is the inclusion of common macros used by the authors in signing out prostate biopsies. It is primarily targeted at practising pathologists, but trainees (especially those in their more senior years of training) who wish to become proficient at prostate biopsy interpretation will also find it useful. One item on the wish list for the next edition would be the expansion of Chapter 14, "Benign and malignant prostate following treatment".
