Resolution of α_1-Adrenoceptor Antagonist (±)-DDPH and Pharmacological Activity of (-)-DDPH

摘要

In recent years it has been demonstrated that 1-(2,6-dimethylphenoxyl)-2-(3,4-dimeth-oxyphenylethylamino) propane hydrochloride [ DDPH ] (1) possesses remarkable antihy-pertensive effect with mild and low toxicity. Furthermore, it has characteristic mechanism of pharmacological action: highly selective α_1-adrenoceptor blocking action with weak calcium antagonistic effect. Now DDPH has been accepted for further study in China, and may be developed into a promising antihypertensive drug with valuable clinical use.
