Reservoir Quality and Porosity Preservation of Tertiary Sandstones in Tarim Basin

Three productive layers have been proved in the Tertiary sequence f Tarim basin. At depths of more than 5 000 m, the Tertiary reservoir sandstones of Northrn Tarim is found to have porosities greater than 15/100 and permeabilities up to 1 000 × 10~-3 um~2. These pores are intergranu- lar and appear to be primary that have survived from compaction and cementation.
