Chinese S&T parks: the emergence of a new model

Only a few years ago, China was not on the map when talking about research and development (R&D). Things have changed dramatically. An increasing number of foreign companies are now considering China as a possible destination for R&D labs. While the Chinese territory is mostly low-tech, there exist some islands of very high technical content: these are the Chinese networks of science and technology (S&T) parks.
