The second CSCMP European Research Seminar was held in conjunction with the Annual CSCMP European Conference in Paris in spring 2007. Interest in this event had grown substantially since its inauguration in 2006. Eighty percent more manuscripts had been submitted to the seminar (18 versus 10 the previous year) and more than 50 people - academics and practitioners - were at the seminar taking part in discussions and listening to the research results which were presented. Eight papers had been selected for presentation, representing topics such as new theoretical approaches to logistics, supply chain relationships and why they fail, and logistics performance measurement in small and medium-sized enterprises of which European countries are so full. Heartfelt thanks to the presenters at the seminar, who all did a great job and made the event memorable and worthwhile. Not all manuscripts went through the remaining two rounds of double blind reviews for JBL, but the process has hopefully been fruitful for further thoughts and reflection so that we will see them later in this or other supply chain management journals.
