As a contributor to the audio community and industry Floyd E. Toole is one of the cornerstones of the modern audio age with his body of work. The third edition of Sound Reproduction: The Acoustics and Pyschoacoustics of Loudspeakers and Rooms is a substantial update to the first edition as the second edition was merely a change in publishers and was unchanged from the first edition. This edition seeks to create a more accessible and, in the words of the author, "a linear approach" to the width and breadth of topics that contribute to the perception of audio in a listening experience, while dispelling some of the folklore and myths that have sprung up along the path of the industry as it has evolved. Certainly, a gargantuan task to be accomplished in a single book.
