One of the leading names among motor manufacturers is that of Mabuchi Motor Co., Ltd. When Mabuchi's Southeast Asian operations need motors, they turn to Mabuchi Industry Co., Ltd., a Hong Kong-based subsidiary that steadily cranks out small electric motors from numerous factories in Dongguang and Boan. Investment and expansion have been part of the parent company's strategies in China ever since Mabuchi Industry opened in 1964. Now, these tactics are paying off: Consolidated net sales for Mabuchi Motor reached ¥87.818 billion in FY1994. Under the direction of Nobuyo Habuchi, Managing Director, Mabuchi Industry also handles sales in Hong Kong and China. It maintains a total staff of 400 employees, and operates from a 174,000sq.ft.
