REINTERPRETING TRADITIONAL CHINESE ARCHITECTURE IN THE OFFICE BUILDING AND SKYSCRAPER: THE ARCHITECTURE OF C. Y. LEE

摘要

As the architect of the new world's tallest building, Taipei 101, the Taiwanese architect C.Y. Lee has played an important role in building designs that present a Chinese cultural identity to the world. This paper analyzes C.Y. Lee's reinterpretation of traditional Chinese architecture in office buildings and skyscrapers. Lee developed his own view of modern Chinese architecture, producing "rules" for creating modern Chinese office buildings and skyscrapers.
