Optimal experimental design with R

摘要

The authors' stated goals of this text are to introduce the philosophy of experimental design, present an easy process for optimal designs with examples via R programs, and to provide a short theoretical treatment of the material presented in the text. They further emphasise in the Preface that this text should be viewed as a manual for their R package OPDOE (Optimal Design of Experiments). While this is a great premise and would be a welcomed addition to the statistical literature, I found that Optimal experimental design with R has numerous shortcomings in attempting to reach these goals.
