In therefore appears that the silicon atoms in the -CH_2SiMe_3 and =CHSiMe_3 ligands of 4 may exert an important influence over the course of the reactions of silanes with alkyl alkylidene complexes. Kinetic studies are currently underway to further probe the possible mechanistic pathways of these reactions.
