Hydrogen has attracted much attention as an alternative cleannenergy, because the reaction of hydrogen with oxygen producesnthe requested energy and only water as an environmentally friendlynside product.n1,2nHowever, the storage and transfer of hydrogen arendifficult with current technology, because hydrogen gas is explosivenwith a poor volumetric energy density.n3nIn this context, theninterconversion of H2 with CO2 to formic acid (HCOOH) (eq 1) innthe presence of an appropriate catalyst has merited special attention.n4nAlthough there have been a number of reports on the formation of
