摘要

For many years there has been a deeply-rooted notion that airports are monopolies that can levy user charges at will and operate with virtual impunity. In fact, competition among global airports has never been more intense than it is today. This is benefiting airlines and passengers alike as airports become more entrepreneurial, offering enhanced services and better efficiencies to attract customers. But in some cases government subsidies and policies are also interfering with the competitive landscape to the detriment of airports and, ultimately, airport users and the communities they serve.
