This paper struck a major, positive, chord with me. After reading the paper, the one thought that came to my mind was an emphatic, 'every airport safety manager needs to read this!' Why? Because it is refreshing to see that an airport has taken notice, and acted upon, the often disjointed safety integration that can occur between contractor and airport. I agree that in many cases airports hire contractors with the (often false) notion that the contractor will work in a safe manner, even if the contractor has had little to no experience in working on an airfield. We know from experience that this is a fallacy.
