摘要

This si the second part of a two-paper series that describes the derivation, development, and practical application of a shape optimization method for aerodynamic design problems involving complex aircraft configurations including multiple design points, subject to geometric constraints. The aerodynamic per- formance is evaluated using the Euler equations discretized on body-conforming multiblock meshes. The design process is greatly accelerated by the use of control theory for the calculation of sensitivity infor- mation and the implementation of the method on distributed memory parallel computers.
