Ground-level O_3 formation is becoming a major concern in many cities due to recent tightening of O_3 regulations. To control O_3 formation, more efficient treatment pro- Cesses for O_3 precursors, such as NO_x and volatile organic Compounds (VOCs), are needed. One promising new Technology for removing both NO_x and VOCs from off- Gas streams is biofiltration, a simple process whereby con- Taminated air is passed through a biological active Packed bed.
