Oceanic Air Traffic Control - Coming of Age

For the past ten years we have been working with oceanic controllers, supervisors, and training personnel on the deployment of the Ocean21 automated control system. Ocean21 is the key component of the FAA's Advanced Technology and Oceanic Procedures (ATOP) contract with Lockheed Martin and its sub-contractor Airways New Zealand. Observation of the deployment and transition training at the key oceanic control centers (Anchorage, Oakland, and New York) has brought us to a conclusion.
