Meeting Military ATM Objectives by Leveraging Civil ATM Advances

Over the last ten years, technology advances from NextGen, SESAR, and industry initiatives have benefited civil ATM across surveillance, communications, navigation, and automation. Even in a constrained funding environment, these technological advances - supporting joint civil/military cooperation and flexible use of airspace - can enable military ATM to optimize airspace efficiency. Further, exploring alternatives to infrastructure procurement through managed service contracts can provide refreshed or newly deployed infrastructure at an affordable cost for military deployment.
