摘要

Application of CFRP to the industrial field is expanding and acoustic emission testing (AT) is utilizedfor some applications. In this paper, possible problems that may cause when AE testing is applied toCFRP components with curved fibers are discussed based on the previous author’s paper aboutultrasonic propagation in CFRPs. It was concluded that the AE amplitude has a potential to be highlyaffected by the location of AE sensors on the components. It is also noted that general AE sourcelocation algorithm cannot be applied for this kind of materials in some cases since shortest path fromAE source to AE sensor are varied with the position on the components
