摘要

The study by Djukic and colleagues in this issue of the The Joint Commission Journal on Quality and Patient Safety is an important addition to the findings that bachelors degree in nursing (BSN) graduates have a quality edge over less educated nurses. Considerable research has found that nurse educational level affects mortality in the United States and in other countries, and the authors of this article had previously discovered a number of education gaps between associate degree in nursing (ADN) and BSN graduates that might partially account for the difference.5 The current study looked at whether those gaps continued after the Quality and Safety Education for Nurses (QSEN) project was funded by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation to prepare ADN and BSN faculty to strengthen quality and safety education.
