Testudinariols A (1) and B (1u0001) are ichthyotoxic and structurally unusual triterpene alcohols isolated from thenskin and the mucus of the marine mollusc Pleurobrancus testudinarius. The first synthesis of (u0002)-1 and (u0002)-1u0001nwas achieved by starting from (R)-glycidol.
