R.T.R.I. developed the hybrid control technology with trolley-collection and on-board battery power supply for railway electric vehicles. It is designed to utilize and recycle braking energy and secure a steady regenerative load. Regenerative braking vehicles have been introduced to save the energy consumption, but there still remains the regeneration being cancelled out problem. The higher the rate of regenerative vehicles goes up, the more tends to go rise the rate of the regeneration being cancelled out, by the increased amount of regenerative power. It shows the importance of the steady regenerative load, even for the electric vehicles supplied from the trolley lines.
