The Current Status and Issues over Platform Screen Doors

While the Ministry of Lund, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism (hereafter, notated as "the Ministry") has been comprehensively promoting a wide variety of safety measures so far, accidents on a platform, such as falling from a platform onto the tracks and contacting a running train, still occur. Therefore, installation of platform screen doors has been required to prevent those accidents more than ever. The Ministry has made efforts on promoting its technical development of new types of platform screen doors to accommodate issues, such as different car door positions, cost reduction and others, and supporting the installation. In this article, eight new types of platform screen doors are illustrated and future efforts of the Ministry are introduced.
