A New Error Correction Algorithm for High-Density Optical Storage Systems

We propose a new error correction technique for high-density optical storage systems using a syndromechecking long-burst error detection scheme. The advantages are (1) easy code rate adjustment and (2) simple code construction (less inner code encoding and decoding time).
