摘要

China, a country with the largest population and the largestrnnational territory area in the East Asia region, is on a fastrntrack growth path since the policy of reform and openingrnwhich began in 1978. Chinese Mainland (Taiwan isrnconsidered as distinct areas) accounts for 61.9% urban land ofrntotal urban land in the East Asia region in 2000, 66.4% urbanrnland of that in 2010, and 82.8% urban expansion area of therntotal urban expansion area in the East Asia region from 2000rnto 2010. Meanwhile, the urban population of China increasedrnfrom 345.8 million people to 477.2 million people. 132.6rnmillion, the growth of China urban population, accounted forrn65.7% of total urban population increased in the region duringrnthis decade.
