摘要

A nonlinear FE model was developed to validate thernexperimental observations and to examine the bracingrnrequirement for the beam that intersects the braces in chevronrnbraced frames. The model reproduced the experimental responsernquite adequately. The results suggest that lack of lateral bracingrnof this beam may not be detrimental to the global behavior of thernbraced frame, although it may allow severe inelastic torsion of thernbeam.
