1. The courtyard is a sheltered space protected from direct coldrnwinds in winter.rn2. In Kabul, diurnal variation of air temperature is more (12°C)rnand the thick masonry buildings regulates the indoor airrntemperature.rn3. Northern rooms that face south receive more sunshine duringrnthe winter so the users migrate to these rooms.
